Convert any image to WebP

One converter for every common format

This is the format-agnostic converter: drop in JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF or BMP and get an optimised WebP back. Output is always WebP, so you get a single, consistent, web-friendly format no matter what you started with.

Everything is processed on your own device using your browser’s built-in image engine, so there are no uploads, no accounts and no waiting in a queue.

What happens to each format

Photographs (JPG/JPEG) shrink significantly while keeping their detail. PNGs keep their transparency. BMPs — which are usually huge and uncompressed — often see the biggest savings of all. Animated GIFs are converted to a still WebP using the first frame, since the goal here is small, sharp images rather than animation.

Why standardise on WebP?

Maintaining a mix of JPGs, PNGs and BMPs across a site is harder to optimise and cache. Converting everything to WebP gives you one modern format with excellent compression and universal browser support — simpler to manage and faster for visitors.

Any format your browser can decode — including JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and BMP. Output is always WebP.

Is there a file-size or count limit?

Inputs up to 100 MB and 32 megapixels are supported; very large files depend on your device memory since everything runs locally.

Does it work offline?

Yes — once the page has loaded, conversion needs no network connection.

What happens to animated GIFs?

The first frame is converted to a still WebP. Animated WebP output is out of scope for v1.
